| The Mural |
| In the summer
of 2010,we will all witness the unveiling of a mural that will be
installed on the front of the museum annex. Dirk Rozich is the
artist selected to compose the mural. The Mural is being funded by
a generous donation by Judy Nicely and Mary Jo Py in honor of their
parents Ruth and Stanley Bowers. You can see a sketch and an
article about the mural in the
2010

| Accessioning |
| We are taking pictures and recording information about all the items in the museum which will be added to our Past Perfect Museum software and database... this is a time consuming and tedious task but will be very rewarding as time continues. |
| 2010 Independence Day T-Shirt Design Contest |
| We are again looking to tap into our youth's art talent at Teays Valley High School and we've asked Cheryl Cherry, Teays Valley Art teacher, to help with this project again. We had over 70 entries last year and hope to see some great talent this year. 1st Place winner - $50.00, 1st and 2nd Runner-Up - $25.00. |
| Photograph and News Article Logging |
| Dorothy Cormany and Charles Morrison continue delving into boxes and boxes of old photos and news articles that have been given to the museum. As the photos and articles are identified and categorized by Dorothy and Charles they are finding a home in our library in the form of notebooks. It is a real treat to sit and go through the books to see the past. For students or anyone researching the Ashville area history this can be quite a spot to spend some time in. |
| Membership Drive |
| Each new member that joins
and continues to renew their memberships can feel good about what their
membership funds do. Membership funds help the museum to continue
from year to year with the upkeep and maintenance of the items it houses
and makes available for people to see. Please consider doing a
"feel good" thing and join Ashville Area Heritage Society in preserving
your heritage as a member. Although we are looking for volunteers, membership does not mean there is an obligation to physically volunteer and be active in the museum affairs. All help whether monetarily or volunteering is very much appreciated. |
| Ashville Alumni Pictures |
