Constitution
of The
Ashville Area Heritage Society *************************** Article
1 – Name:
The name of this organization shall be the Ashville Area
Heritage Society, an educational, non-profit organization, incorporated
in the State of Ohio, County of Pickaway. Article
II – Purpose:
The
purpose of this organization shall be to preserve and protect the
heritage of Ashville and the surrounding area, promote pride in the
community through education and involvement, and to stimulate local
creativity. Article
III – Members and Dues: Any
person or organization interested in the objects of this society shall
be eligible for membership upon payment of membership dues.
Types of memberships and dues may include any as may be
designated and defined by the Board of Trustees and approved by a vote
of the active members. Article
IV – Board of Trustees:
Five
trustees shall be elected from the general membership, two of which
shall be elected for a two-year term (except the first year when they
will be elected for a one year term) and three will be elected for a
two-year term. This board
shall serve as the governing body of the organization.
A chairman shall be elected from the five, and serve a one year
term as chairman. Article
V – Officers:
Four
officers shall be elected from the general membership each year.
They are, President: Vice President: Secretary: and Treasurer.
They shall serve a term of one year. Article
VI – Meetings: There
shall be at least one general membership meeting a year for the purpose
of reviewing the financial status and electing the officers of the
organization, and for such other matters as may require attention. Article
VII – Dissolution: Upon
dissolution of the Ashville Area Heritage Society, the Society’s
assets will be donated to any entity and/or any other interested local
civic organizations as the trustees deem fit. Article
VIII – Amendments: This
constitution may be amended by two-thirds of the members in good
standing present at any meeting, providing that the total membership
shall have had not less than two weeks prior notice of the meeting and
proposed constitutional change. ********************* |
